ILCO hosted Jamboree 2026 on Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26 in Denver. We kicked things off with a Welcome Reception on the rooftop in RiNo, with entertainment provided by the wonderfully talented Dolly Parton cover band, "Parton Me."
On Friday, were joined by more than two dozen Local Program Partners who shared their wisdom and truly innovative insights with us through dynamic workshop sessions. Some highlights within our guest speakers include a visit from Senator Jeff Bridges and a chat with Dr. Lisa Roy, the CDEC Executive Director, who is also our staunch advocate and state of Colorado partner.
Speaker Information & Presentations
Michelle Anthony is a regional director for The Dollywood Foundation. She’s passionate about bringing positive change to her community, and has spent her entire career working in the non-profit sector for youth serving organizations. Michelle and her husband have two daughters, and all four of them are avid readers! Outside of reading, they enjoy watching the Denver Broncos, playing sports, spending time in the Rocky Mountains, and just being together as a family.
Allie Kallmann Wegner is a Senior Researcher at the Colorado Evaluation & Action Lab at the University of Denver. The Colorado Lab was created in 2017 under the leadership of the Governor's Office as the state's policy lab. They work with a broad range of government, community, and family partners to unlock data-informed solutions and identify opportunities to foster meaningful and sustained change. In this session, we will discuss the results of the 2025 evaluation of ILCO, as well as potential policy implications.
Mary Lanni and Jaime Gotlieb are from the Douglas County Libraries and shared a clever and successful fundraising campaign
called Where's Dolly Wednesday? During a Jamboree session they discussed how the project was introduced, the marketing, and what the results garnered. Feel free to contact them with questions about the packet they shared with the group.
Joining us for a session was USPS' Curtis Morris. He shared a few tidbits about mailing books, more more importantly he fielded questions from our affiliates about the Return Service Requested Endorsement program and the strain it places on each affiliate financially and the amount of time it takes to address. Though we haven't learned how to resolve this, here is the current information on the BOS.
